The Two-Color Set

One for under everything.
One for when it shows.

Most women who buy one buy a second within a month — a black that vanishes under work clothes, and a color they actually want to be seen in. The set is that, plus everything you need to keep them looking new.

The Two-Color Set: a black and a crimson band with a dust bag, mesh wash bag and fit card
  • 01Two bands, any two colors. Same size, or one of each if you are between.
  • 02Mesh wash bag, a $9.99 value. Velvet pile mats if it tumbles loose in a machine. This is how the damask survives a wash.
  • 03Cotton dust bag. Keeps the pile from crushing in a drawer.
  • 04Fit card. Your size, your pistol, and how to set the hooks for the draw.
  • 05Free shipping.

Why it stays put

Built for a woman's waist,
not a man's belt.

Your waist is narrower than your hips, so the bottom edge of a band has to travel further than the top. Every other band ignores that. Ours puts the stretch exactly where the body curves.

01

It doesn't slide down

All the stretch sits in two elastic panels over the hips, so the band pulls inward against the hip bone instead of creeping down under the weight of a loaded pistol. The inside face is lined with silicone beading that grips bare skin, so it stays exactly where you set it through a full day.

02

Zero cant, on purpose

The pocket walls run parallel to the center closure, so the pistol sits perfectly vertical at the appendix position. That's where the grip prints least and where the draw is shortest.

03

Velvet never touches skin

The damask is a face fabric only. Against you is a flat wicking knit with ventilated mesh outside the holster panel, so it breathes through a Florida afternoon.

04

Under 1.5 mm

Quilted through, short-pile velvet, no bulky hardware. It disappears under a fitted t-shirt instead of drawing a line across your back.

The colors

Pretty little secret.

One band, one pattern die, nine embossed velvets. The elastic wings stay matte black in every one, so the color reads as an accent instead of something you have to hide.

Limited — The Camo Capsule

Same band. Different attitude.

Three camouflage velvets, made in one run. When they are gone they are gone.

Nine women, each wearing a different color of the band

How to wear it

She's not carrying a purse.

Band worn under a knit sweater with leggings
Under a knitSits at the natural waist. No print, no line, no reason for anyone to look twice.
Band worn low with mid-wash jeans
With jeansWear it low so the bottom half tucks behind the waistband. The grip clears the denim for the draw.
Back view showing the concealed zip pocket
All dayRose-gold hooks, three positions, one hand. No velcro tearing at your shirt every time you fasten it.
Rear zip pocket with a phone being slid in

The back

A pocket you'll use more than the holster.

A concealed zip across the small of the back, sized for a phone laid flat. The coil hides inside the seam, so closed it reads as one clean line and a single small rose-gold pull. Nothing digs in when you sit.

Two women's hands clasped together in support

Where a piece of this goes

Most women who carry
have a reason.

Some of you found us after something happened. Some of you are making sure nothing does. Either way, there are women who are not past it yet, and there are people who answer the phone when they call.

Velvet Recoil supports three of them every year. At checkout you tell us which one your band stands behind, and that's where our giving goes. You don't pay extra and we don't ask you to. It just seemed wrong to build this and not.

You choose Tell us which one at checkout — that’s where our giving goes.

In the box

It arrives like something
you'd want to keep.

Folded in thirds behind an arched window, so you see the velvet before you open anything. Soft-touch board, rose-gold foil, and a chevron cut across the top that you will recognise on a shelf from across the aisle.

Our story

We started over.

Every belly band on the market is a black elastic strap with lace glued to it. It slides down under a loaded pistol, it has no trigger coverage, and it works under exactly one outfit. We threw out the strap and started with the body.

Velvet Recoil is made by Urban Carry Holsters — the same people who have been making leather carry gear for over a decade. Same standards. Different customer.
